This was a crazy day. We woke up and decided to go to DC to spend the day there. In the beginning, things were hectic because I wanted to take clothes for some pictures; so I had to get Serena ready and pack the clothes. After an hour of craziness we were all set to go. We grabbed some breakfast at a local bakery (where Serena decided to eat half a cookie and share the other half with her dress) and then headed to our destination. If you havent heard; DC has the worst traffic in the world (at least I think so) so after an hour of driving and 20 minutes of looking for parking we found a spot and headed to “National Gallery of Arts.” It is a beautiful place and so we walked around took pictures and things got a little bit relaxed. After visiting the gallery we headed to China Town for lunch and some shopping and once again the nightmare of looking for a parking spot began. It is no fun to look for a parking when you have a hungry child in the back asking every 2 seconds Are we there yet? Are we there now? so finally we found a spot three blocks down and went to eat and then walked around China Town. Sharjeel was shopping for some T-Shirts when our fashion-nina decided to help her dad. He had to put on a show for her in the fitting room because she decided to pick out a dinosaur and a Ninja turtles T-Shirt and guess what; daddy actually bought those ( I wish we could do a photo shoot with those). By the time we were done with the shopping it was around 5:30pm and we knew that we will get stuck in rush hour so we headed home and daddy and Serena fell asleep in the car. It took us an hour to get home and Serena woke up as we were getting closer to home and mumbled something . When I asked her “What were you saying” she got super cranky and used her favorite cranky line “Mommy you don’t know anything” “Why you don’t know anything” “you are so old.” It’s hard for me not to laugh when she says these things but I knew she will get even more upset if I do so I tried to keep a straight face and became super quiet and then I heard her tiny voice asking “Mommy r u mad?’ to which I responded “No. mama knows this is Karma” which started another discussion about “What does Karma mean” but thank God we were home and that discussion didn’t last too long.
I love all spring jackets but having a leather jacket is a must. I had been looking for a jacket and this was the perfect one. The top part of jacket was all quilted and the side zippers totally gave her a “Rocker Chick” and “here is my motorcycle” look and we added the red lace dress to give it an even more dramatic look.
This is the season of stripes and bold colors so why not combine the two? I loved this striped combination dress and the red jacket was icing on the cake. The stripes on this dress are not exactly straight which gives the dress a more funky look and actually makes your body look slender too.
The pumps were just perfect with the outfit. I love the stripes and they can go with so many different looks.
Since we took some extra clothes I will be doing part 2 of this post soon. Stay Tuned 🙂
