Hello Everyone – Sorry for being MIA for so long. I was on the road for a couple of days and am really excited to share that it was for the Mrs. Pakistan International 2014 pageant. I plan on dedicating another post about my pageant experiance but today I want to talk about why I did it. I believe that people should really do what they believe in & where their heart is, around the december time-frame I came across this pageant, initially I wanted to apply for it right away but then all the social stigmas attached with pageants entered my mind (especially the ones associated with Pakistani women). After doing some initial research I realized that this pageant was about a lot more then just beauty but I was still unsure. I kept thinking that why do I need to do this at this age, how will my family react, does it really align with how I see women and how I want Serena to be.
After pondering over it for a few days and talking to Sharjeel, I filled out the application. I came to the conclusion that I always talk about that as women the most important thing we have is our choice. So why do I want to give away my choice to social stigmas or how others will perceive me. As long as I am confident in what I am doing and why I am doing it, then I should proceed with it. Now to why I did it? Because I wanted to show that an average looking woman, with all my flaws can still be considered beautiful because beauty is more than just what initially meets the eye, the mind can be just as beautiful. Regardless to say that the experience has been an incredible one. I will write more in detail about how the day went and pageant details but for now I want to say that I had the love and support of so many people; all with smart minds and beautiful hearts.
In the end I would just say that do not let your own or others fear hold you back from what you truly want to do in life. I am not just saying this because I won but truly I am so glad that I went through with this and created some life-long friends and memories.

This is my absolutely favorite dress from the LABELS collection. Its edgy and classy. The lace is rich and gives a nice flow & structure to the dress. I added red to spice up the look along with some beautiful rubies and diamond studded earrings and bracelet by Sherezad.
Thank you for stopping by!
