NYFW like every year was a crazy mix of insanity and inspiration. This year I once again made the list of AOL’s featured bloggers and did cover a lot of backstage events for them too. Needles to say I had an amazing time meeting some wonderful people during and in-between the shows. It was also not to shabby to party with Heidi Klum for INC on day 1 and then my second day for NYFW started with some rain showers and mad run to the shows. However, the highlight of Day2 was spending time with Diane Von Frustenberg. She is the queen of fashion world and a true inspiration when it comes to truly believing in power of diversity and inclusion in the fashion world.
I have made a few runs to NYFW so by now I know the key is to mix comfort with style. So keeping the rainy season in mind I opted for this black custom-made Khaadi dress and paired it with a vintage gold boxy clutch and my choo’s. Yes! the heel is high but there is no other shoe that can last all day with this much heel and not kill my feet.
Let me talk about the dress a little bit. The lace knee-length had such intricate details The floral print gave it a whimsical feel and the buttons on the sleeve gave perfect amount of structure to this beautiful piece. It is truly an honor to represent my heritage during NYFW. I sincerely felt that I took a little piece of Pakistan when I wore it during fashion week. I received so many compliments on the dress and it allowed me to tell and show people the level of craftsmanship that’s available in Pakistan. Also Khaadi is a household name when it comes to having a fine piece of designer wear at an affordable price. I have done several shoots in their clothes ( you can see latest one’s here and here) and you will continue to see more of their pieces on the blog.
