Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is right around the corner and I hope you have some fun plans for the long weekend. I will be staying in the local area I think this is my first time after a long time that I have stayed in town over a long weekend. There is a lot going on in my life and I promise at some point I will share some details but for now, all I can say is that staying happy healthy and at peace is my biggest priority. Recently I talked about this on my Snapchat as well. Someone had asked me a question how do I stay so happy. My response was that staying happy also requires certain exercises and I’m listing those again here for those who might not follow me on Snapchat.
Here are my top 5 happiness exercises.
Meditation: I can’t even begin to express how beneficial meditation has been in my life. Just practicing to silence your brain for a few minutes has done wonders for my life. I practice TM meditation but you can practice anything to get started and even if you do start with two minutes it can truly bring magnificent changes to your life. I always use the example of a computer that it’s like doing a refresh for your computer so it works faster. Along with meditation I also do visualization and positive affirmations will talk about those some other time in greater detail.
Gratitude: I know some days it is tougher than others to have gratitude but trust me The power of thank you cannot be underestimated. I have developed a habit of saying thank you for the smallest thing like a green light or big things like eating, waking up and having the ability to walk, feel, smell touch. Even when things are not going your way say thank you and have the belief that whatever is happening is for your highest good.
Dance: I think dancing is totally underestimated no matter how bad your mood is force yourself to dance for a few minutes and either you will smile with joy maybe laugh at the silliness of it all. Either way, it will change your mood positively. I try to dance at least a couple of minutes every day. Also no matter how bad I’m feeling I do not listen to negative/sad music. Music touches our soul so if you are feeling down and you listen to sad music it will only raise that same frequency more of sadness.
Avoid Negativity: always avoid negative people. I avoid negativity like it’s some sort of plague. Don’t think negative thoughts. Don’t interact with negative people and biggest of all don’t spread negativity.
Love yourself: Our culture, unfortunately, makes it really hard at times. Especially for women there are so many pressures at home and outside. To look and act a certain way. It makes it harder to love yourself. But truly learn to selfishly love yourself. I don’t think negatively about yourself. Learn to be compassionate and forgiving towards your own self. Just these few things will help you love yourself and trust me you cannot love another without loving yourself.
I hope these little exercises help you stay happy the way they have helped me. Now let’s get back to fashion, shall we.. I love this $20 Pom Pom dress from forever21.
